“HVMS practice management software emerged from a practice that had been operating for over 50 years. The practice owner identified a fundamental need to compensate their veterinarians more appropriately for professional services, and capture missed and lost billings. One of the mantras of our Chairman and Founder is that the further the vet walks away in time and space from the patient and the owner, the more they are going to give up in time and billable hours that are really valuable to them. With this type of approach, we’ve built a product that creates efficiency and productivity in the practice and still allows the flexibility to practice in different ways.”
Scott Pickard, CEO of Business Infusions, owners of HVMS software.
About the Guest
A graduate of Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Jackman joined Pioneer in 2010. Originally from Boksburg, South Africa, Dr. Jackman completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences at Colorado State University and then went on to obtain her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in May 2003. Upon completion of her formal schooling, Karen completed a one year internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Colorado, and then stayed on as an associate until joining Pioneer. Karen’s professional interests include lameness, internal and preventive medicine, and ophthalmology. Because of her especially strong interest in conditions of the horse eye, Karen has enjoyed taking numerous courses on equine-specific ophthalmology over the years and has become adept at treating and managing challenging “eye” cases. Outside of work Karen enjoys running, other outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends (of both the 2- and 4-legged variety).
